1. "The quality will be poor."

Quality failures come from unmanaged freelancers and vendors with no process. The rates that turn out to be fiction are the ones quoted before anyone understood the requirements. We estimate after a scoping conversation, in writing, with assumptions stated, and scope changes go through a visible change process instead of surprise invoices.

Comparing offshore software development companies on hourly rate is how horror stories start. Compare on these instead:

• In-house team or broker? Ask how many engineers are on payroll and where they sit. Many "companies" are two salespeople and a freelancer network. (MONA: 200+ in-house staff, in our own offices in Vietnam.)
• Track record with demanding markets. A vendor that retains Japanese, European, or Australian clients over years has survived real scrutiny.
• Process you can inspect. They should show you their delivery pipeline (requirements, sprints, QA, reporting) unprompted.
• Who owns the code, and when? Correct answer: you, from the first commit, in your own repository.
• Full-cycle capability. If the vendor can't do design, backend, QA, and DevOps under one roof, you're actually hiring a hidden subcontractor chain.
